About Us

Our Mission

To provide German modeled apprenticeship infrastructure to better support German companies operating in our region and to strengthen American businesses and empower a skilled workforce by creating systems that connect employers, educational providers and apprentices with innovative and ambitious career training programs. The programs create and expand an innovative and scalable apprenticeship model that addresses employer demand. Training includes classroom instruction, paid on-the-job training and rigorous exams that measure skill and competency.

Wunderbar Together Campaign

wunderbar together

From October 2018 until the end of 2019, Germany will be celebrating a year of German-American friendship knowing that the United States and Germany are Wunderbar Together ― stronger as friends and partners. With this initiative, we are focusing on our robust relationship, rooted in deep historic ties, shared values, and bold visions for the future. We are also recalling how after the end of World War II, transatlantic partnership ushered in a unique era of peace, freedom, and security. For us Germans, the United States remains our closest partner outside Europe. Our friendship with the United States means a lot to us, as we know it does to many Americans. That is why people will be at the heart of this year of German-American friendship. Over the coming months, we would like to renew the dialogue with our American friends about the importance of our relationship and how we can shape it for the future. As we face shared challenges and societies become more divided, we must build more – and stronger – bridges between our peoples. Working with over 200 partners, we are showcasing our close bonds in over 1,000 events in all 50 states. We are painting a picture of everything German-American relations stand for, including science, the arts, culture, language, business, and sports. We want to create an exchange of ideas with all Americans, not only in New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, but also in the heart of the country. Wunderbar Together is a comprehensive and collaborative initiative funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, implemented by the Goethe-Institut, and supported by the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
